Digital transformation

The framework of Digital transformation is described below, including three components: antecedents, mechanisms, and consequences. We will discuss external factors, including trends of digital technologies, digital competition, and digital customer behavior, that have impacts and trigger firms to adapt to technological changes. Simultaneously, incumbent firms must possess the capabilities and resources to realize the capabilities of digital technologies; and to seize these opportunities for their DT’s initiatives. We will scrutinize the mechanisms (e.g., The level of adoption of digital technologies, digital strategy, and digital integration capabilities which are imperative requirements for firms to drive its DT journey. Eventually, we explore the consequences of DT as creating new products and services, operational efficiency, the impacts on organizational level, and higher-level impacts (e.g., society, nations).
