The driver of DT includes external and internal factors. External factors are the environmental conditions that affect and drive the transformation, including the trends of digital technologies, digital competition, and digital customer behavior. Whereas internal factors are the internal conditions of firms that trigger the transformation internally, including the level of adoption of digital technologies, capabilities, and resources of firms.

External factors encompass in three components: the trends of digital technologies, digital competition, digital customer behavior. Disruptive technologies (e.g., social network, mobile, analytics, clous, Internet of Things etc.) have the important effects and changes on individual and organization level.
